Google API data usage

This page explains how Reliable Business ("we", "us") uses information obtained from Google APIs, and how we comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Limited Use disclosure

Reliable Business's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

OAuth scopes we request

We request a single scope:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage

This scope is the only one Google offers for the Business Profile APIs. We do not request additional Google scopes (no Drive, Calendar, Gmail, Contacts, etc.).

APIs we call and why

  • Account Management API — list the Google Business Profile accounts the signed-in user already manages, so we can show them in the account picker.
  • Business Information API — read each location's profile fields (categories, hours, address, phone, website, description, services, attributes) to compute a completeness score.
  • Reviews API — read reviews, ratings and response rate. Write actions (post a reply) only execute when the user explicitly clicks "Post reply".
  • Posts API — read post cadence over the last 30 days. Write actions (publish a post) only execute when the user explicitly clicks "Publish".
  • Q&A API — read questions so we can surface unanswered ones in the dashboard.
  • Verifications API — display verification status per location.

What we do with the data

  • Compute a 0–100 health score and a per-category breakdown.
  • Generate a short AI-written action plan describing the top three improvements for the location. The action plan generator receives only the failed checks and a minimal location summary — never review author personal data or customer-identifying information beyond what is already public on Google.
  • Mirror the location data in our database so we can re-audit on demand.

What we do NOT do with the data

  • We do not sell or transfer the data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
  • We do not use the data to train generalized AI/ML models.
  • We do not allow humans to read your data, except (a) with your explicit permission, (b) as necessary for security, abuse, or legal reasons, or (c) for limited debugging on data that has been aggregated or anonymized.
  • We do not access any Google Business Profile location that you do not already manage.

Third-party processors

  • Lovable Cloud (managed Postgres + hosting) — stores our database and runs our server functions.
  • Lovable AI Gateway (Google Gemini models) — generates the action-plan text from the failed-check summary. Inputs are not retained for model training.

Revoking access

You can revoke Reliable Business's access to your Google account at any time from https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once revoked we can no longer call the GBP API on your behalf. You can also delete your account in-app, which removes your tokens and mirrored location data within 30 days.
